Notice Title

Cellular Pathology Managed Service Market Engagement

Notice Description

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) is seeking to engage with suppliers interested in its requirement for a Cellular Pathology Managed Service. The Cellular Pathology Service at University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) NHS Foundation Trust is currently situated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) and Heartlands Hospital site, where samples are processed from all UHB locations. Cellular Pathology at both sites provides a comprehensive diagnostic service to internal users, as well as a variety of external users such as GP's, none UHB hospitals and some private organisations. The Department processes approximately 100,000 requests a year, the results of which are used for diagnostic and monitoring purposes and in conjunction with other clinical information to direct treatment. Suppliers who are able to offer services relevant to this requirement are invited to express an interest and attend a presentation day. Further details on how to do this are contained within the additional information section of this notice. This exercise is intended to provide potential bidders with the opportunity to review the Authority's Briefing Document and to provide information regarding the services they can offer that could meet these outline requirements. This builds on the Authority's commitment to engage with the market, by sharing information and seeking input from the market to enable us to develop the final specification and determine the appropriate route to market in a fair and transparent manner. Additional information: Potential suppliers are invited to provide a presentation for the pre-market engagement event to support the procurement of a Cellular Pathology Managed Service Contract on Monday 28 or Tuesday 29 November 2022. This session will be a virtual session hosted via MS Teams. To register your interest in attending, please complete and submit this response form by no later than 09:00 on Monday 21 November 2022.
