Notice Title

KM 581931 Opportunity for provider to work with Durham for bespoke children's residential home.

Notice Description

Ofsted or CQC registered. Rural is preferred. K is a 13 year old girl who has experienced significant trauma in her early life resulting in her struggling to manage her emotions and how she behaves as well as how she feels about herself and how she talks to and behaves towards others. When K is feeling happy and settled she can be fun and have a good sense of humour. She loves horses and all things hair and beauty related such as getting her nails done. K likes listening to music and singing as well as socialising with friends and visiting her family. K has a very caring and lovely side when she is not unregulated. K is a very talented writer and I have seen many of her poems/songs she has written for members of her family or about her feelings. I feel this is something she could really progress with in the future. When K is unregulated and feeling unable to manage her emotions, this is when we see a different side to her. K may shout and scream, swear, damage property and make threats to staff. She will go missing and can use substances and find herself in situations where she is at risk of exploitation. When K is in this heightened state distraction techniques can sometimes work or chat to her grandad on the phone. K is unable to have a mobile phone at the moment due to our worries around exploitation. K requires further exploration of her social and communication needs as well as any global needs to ensure she has the correct support in place. K has so much to offer and did have a long-settled period at Moorside and built positive relationships with staff. K needs a stable place to live, somewhere therapeutic and nurturing to help support her when she is feeling unable to regulate herself.
