Summary of the contracting process

The British Museum is currently seeking suppliers for the "BM.18.017 British Museum INDUCE Project Radiocarbon Dating," a tender that focuses on analysis services, specifically for radiocarbon dating to support a significant research project. The procurement process is at the tender stage, with the application deadline set for 26th September 2018. The contract is expected to begin on 1st October 2018 and will extend until 31st December 2020. This opportunity is located in London, UK and the procurement follows an open procedure, allowing any interested parties to participate.

This tender presents excellent opportunities for businesses specialising in radiocarbon dating and related analytical services, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Businesses that are experienced in handling large volumes of scientific analyses, specifically those capable of conducting approximately 200 AMS 14C sample dates annually, would be well-suited to respond. Engaging with this project could enhance visibility for providers in the research community, and participating in a high-profile initiative like the INDUCE Project can lead to further collaboration and growth within the sector.

Notice Title

BM.18.017 British Museum INDUCE Project Radiocarbon Dating

Notice Description

The British Museum seeks to identify suppliers of radiocarbon dating services to support INDUCE a long-term research project funded by the ERC. The function of pottery from up to 100 Neolithic sites between the Urals and the south-west Baltic coast will be investigated, through multiple scientific analyses of organic residues. The project includes the largest dating programme ever undertaken on early pottery in this region. We are looking to engage with up to three radiocarbon dating laboratories. It is estimated that around ~200 AMS 14C samples will require dating per year in the period 2018-2020.
