Summary of the contracting process

West Midlands Fire & Rescue is inviting tenders for a national framework for the supply and delivery of Safe and Well Equipment. This multi-supplier framework, aimed at enhancing home safety and well-being for vulnerable individuals, includes a variety of items such as fire retardant bedding, clothing, home security equipment, personal protection misting systems, and keep warm packs. This procurement process, classified under CPV code 39512000 (Bed linen), will follow an open procedure and is currently in the tender stage. The tender period will end on 24 January 2025, with the framework agreement expected to be awarded in March 2025 and commencing on 20 April 2025 for a duration of four years, until 19 April 2029. The location for delivery includes the entire UK and several other regions, and the anticipated value ranges between £0 and £5 million.

This framework provides substantial opportunities for businesses to grow by becoming suppliers of essential safety and well-being equipment to fire and rescue services and local authorities across England and Wales. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate due to their suitability for this tender, although it is not targeted at voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). The framework's wide scope means that businesses specializing in safety equipment, fire prevention gear, and household items for vulnerable individuals are particularly well-suited to submit tenders. Participation in this framework can offer extensive market access and the potential for significant business growth, providing essential support and products to help safeguard vulnerable populations.
