Notice Title

Buses and Drivers for Stonehenge Vehicle Transport System

Notice Description

Stonehenge and the landscape in which it stands is unique, and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (WHS). It is one of the most popular monuments in the country, with more than a million visitors each year. In December 2013 the new visitor centre opened at Airman's Corner, 1.5 miles away from the Stones, and significantly changed the operation of the site. The framework of the VTS, or Visitor Transport System, consists of the safe and efficient transit of individual and group customers from the Visitor Centre to the monument and their return. From Summer 2017, EH will be opening our new Groups processing facility which will enhance the overall experience of travel trade customers. This will form an integral part of the VTS. The smooth and efficient running of this service is crucial to the successful operation of the site. It is an integral part of the visitor experience and the journey adds value to the visit by offering opportunities for visitors to appreciate the landscape of the WHS. This tender opportunity is to provide English Heritage with buses and drivers that will form the Stonehenge VTS. The contract will be for 3 years, with the option to extend for two further 1 year periods.
