Notice Title

Thames Ditton Infant School- Artificial all weather surface installation

Notice Description

The proposed work seeks to replace the field at the front of Thames Ditton Infant School (TDIS) with natural looking, low maintenance, high quality artificial grass. The area consists of approximately 1500 sq. meters. The outdoor playing field is utilised for the purposes of outdoor education for the pupils and, being currently composed of natural grass, has become excessively worn. The corresponding dusty or muddy conditions render the entire area unusable for significant periods of time, effectively losing a valuable resource for the school. Further detail will be contained within the ITT document, however artificial surfaces and preliminary groundworks should comply with appropriate standards (including any BS/ISO standards) for: * Sustainability * Ease of maintenance * (non) toxicity * (non) abrasiveness * heat resistance * colour fastness * porosity * weed suppression * UV resistance * Adequate drainage (part exists in a flood risk 2 area) The contractor will be responsible for all works associated, including but not limited to; design, manufacture and installation. Tenderers should allow for all groundworks, supply, installation and ancillary works, including removal of waste and soil, skips, licences, facilities required by workmen and contractors, and any protective fencing or other works necessary to make the site safe during the work. The School will use its best endeavours to provide access, parking and other facilities subject to other calls on the School's resources. The contractor must be able to ensure compliance with all regulations and legislation relating to the project including Health and Safety and have appropriate and sufficient insurance cover in place. The all weather grass surface is required as early as possible for use in the autumn term 2019. Installation by 3rd September 2019. The tender documents will be available on 6th May 2019, with tender returns due by 12 noon on 31st May 2019. Part 1 Pass Fail question 1.1 The estimated value of this contract is expected to be up to approximately PS80 000.
