Notice Description

Reading Borough Council wish to procure the services of a contractor to undertake the provision of planned and reactive maintenance of fire and security installations to corporate properties and schools, including fire alarm systems, intruder alarms, sprinkler systems, aqua quench systems, fire extinguishers and blankets, fire hydrants, dry risers, fire hoses, emergency lighting, gas suppression, voice alarm systems, disabled refuge systems, induction loop systems and smoke vent systems. The contract will cover approximately 224 properties / assets across the borough. The service will include the provision of an emergency call-out service 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The proposed contract will be for an initial period of five (5) years commencing in April 2017, with an option to extend for a further two year extension. The contracting authority anticipates that the Transfer of Undertaking (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE) will not apply to this contract. Additional information: The services are to be procured under a Restricted procedure and organisations interested in expressing an interest should download the procurement documents which are available on the Council's e-tendering system at: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/readingbc/aspx/Home (Project Reference No. RBC 00000196), and complete as instructed.
