Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for "Project 23866 - On-Farm Kill and Carcase Collection Services Framework" is facilitated by the Defra Network eTendering Portal. This framework aims to provide crucial services related to the on-farm killing of livestock and carcase collection across nine geographical regions in England, Wales, and Scotland. The framework is classified under the CPV code for cattle, livestock, and small animals. The procurement was initiated through an open tender method, with the contract period running from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2023. The tender period officially closed on 1 February 2019, and the project's details were published on 30 November 2018.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in agricultural support services, veterinary assistance, and animal welfare. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary and community sector enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly encouraged to participate in this competitive bidding process. Given the varied lots within the framework, including services like on-farm killing and carcase disposal, businesses with expertise in livestock management, animal health, and emergency response services would be well-suited to seek involvement in this procurement initiative.
