Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the "Neurological Rehabilitation Service" is being led by NHS Shared Business Services, with a focus on enhancing rehabilitation services for patients in London. The initiative is in the planning stage, with a key engagement deadline set for 23 February 2018. The NHS Central London, Hammersmith & Fulham, and West London Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are collaboratively working to develop new service models that include both in-patient and community-based rehabilitation, potentially increasing bed capacity from 10 to 19, in conjunction with a market engagement notice published on 13 February 2018.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses within the healthcare and rehabilitation sectors, particularly those capable of providing specialised neurological rehabilitation services and support. Companies that offer a combination of bed-based interventions and community outreach services, as well as those familiar with NHS procurement processes, will find this opportunity particularly relevant. Innovators in the health services industry who can demonstrate effective transitions in care models may also have an advantageous position in the bidding process.

Notice Title

Neurological Rehabilitation Service

Notice Description

NHS Central London CCG, NHS Hammersmith & Fulham CCG and NHS West London CCG are working together to establish new Neurological Rehabilitation Services for their patients from April 2016. With a combined annual service value circa PS3.5m, the current services include only 10 SNRS Level. A procurement is being planned to competitively tender this whilst increasing the capacity to 19 beds. Recent work with stakeholders and clinicians indicates the need for both a bed based and outreach service model to facilitate patient flow and ensure close integration with acute and community pathways. The CCGs will seek an innovative provider to deliver this model for Level 2 to facilitate transitions in care. The requirement is to provide high quality Level 2 specialist neuro rehab provision for people with moderate to severe physical, cognitive and/or behavioural needs, including those requiring complex disability management. The key components are: **Consultant in RM led, well resourced and competent MDT service; **In-patient bed based specialist interventions and disability management; **Community outreach staff supporting successful transitions in community, and long-term care settings; and ** Follow up care (review) and specialist support to community rehab/case management teams. Potential services providers are invited to engage with the CCGs to help to inform planning for the procurement which is currently intended to commence in August 2015. To express your potential interest in this future procurement, please review the attached documents which detail the commissioning intentions of the CCGs and complete and return the Questionnaire by 19 June 2015. Any expressions of interest or responses received will not form part of any future tender response and are not a prerequisite to any supplier wishing to tender in the future. The CCGs do not intend for this early engagement activity to commit them to any actual subsequent procurement which may or may not take place and the CCGs reserve the right to withdraw this notice. Additional information: ***POTENTIAL PROVIDERS ARE INVITED TO EXPRESS THEIR INTEREST and to send completed questionnaires to Ray.Boateng@nw.london.nhs.uk, referencing "Neuro Rehab Market Engagement" in the title, the DEADLINE of 19th June 2015***
