Notice Title

Covid-19 Vaccine Community Engagement Grant Social Media Training

Notice Description

Newham council working alongside our NHS partners, have developed a model of a "Supportive Conversation" approach to community engagement around the vaccine, rooted in evidence about what helps to tackle vaccine hesitancy. As we believe the vaccines are safe, will save many lives and are vital to our path out of the covid-19 pandemic, we want to work closely with communities to support and address take up issues by being actively in partnership with our residents. The Covid-19 vaccine community engagement grant is one of the strands coming out of our supportive conversations framework. We have 14 community organisations that are a part of the Newham Vaccine Community Engagement Programme. It aims to improve vaccine uptake by ensuring community led supportive conversations and empowering communities that can't be reached through our normal channels to lead their own vaccine discussions with the right information, resources and support. A key part of this grant programme is a social media training offer that provides communities with the digital skills to utilise their social media platforms. We are looking for a social media training course that will help 20 key community leads in developing skills that will build their confidence in using digital channels to communicate with audiences. To gain an understanding of how they can use social media to effectively reach people within their communities and counter vaccine disinformation
