Notice Information
Notice Title
Fire Risks of Upholstered Furniture
Notice Description
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) expect to fund a systematic literature review to scope the fire risks of upholstered products. This work will require expertise in fire safety, chemical exposure and experience in undertaking systematic literature reviews. The expected output of the project is to produce a systematic review of products identifying holistic hazards and risks associated with fire safety of furniture (risk of catching fire, fuel load and risk of fire spread, chemical exposure from flame retardants, vulnerability of users). We are hosting a virtual market engagement event to give an overview of the requirement, answer any outstanding questions and provide an environment for potential bidders to network. The contract will be managed by a contractor appointed by BEIS and delivery of products and services for each milestone will be managed and overseen by BEIS. This contract is expected to run from March 2021 to June 2021 and the budget is expected to be up to ~PS80,000. Additional information: If you wish to take part in the market engagement exercise or obtain further information on the project, please contact Thomas Kirkbride at address stipulated in the "Contact Details" section. We are planning to host the market engagement event on the 29th January 2021 at 10:00-11:00 AM via Microsoft Teams, prior to issuing the ITT at the start of February where it will be live until end February. How to apply Please apply directly to the buyer using the contact details provided, or follow the instructions given in the notice description or information section.
