Summary of the contracting process

The "2DP MMC Construction" procurement process, initiated by the Department for Education (DfE), is currently in the planning stage. This tender is aimed at appointing a subject matter expert to provide advisory services on the structural and fire safety performance of 2D panelised modern methods of construction. The tender falls under the research services industry category and is relevant for businesses operating both within the United Kingdom and internationally, including the British Overseas Territories, Channel Islands, Europe, Isle of Man, and the Rest of the World. Interested suppliers should note that the engagement end date is set for 30th June 2026. The procurement is managed through the Crown Commercial Service's RM6242 Construction Professional Services Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS).

This tender presents a significant business opportunity for organisations with expertise in construction consultancy, particularly those familiar with 2D panel systems in low to medium-rise buildings. It offers growth potential by requiring extensive research, data collection, and engagement with major contractors in the field. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are well-suited to compete in this process, provided they are registered and live on the DPS with applicable service filters before the specified deadline. Participation in the upcoming market engagement event is highly recommended, as it will provide suppliers with insights into the programme's requirements and timelines, thereby positioning them strategically for this opportunity.
