Summary of the contracting process

The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has recently awarded a contract for the project titled "Analysis of the environmental chapter for the Department of Health and Social Care call for evidence of youth vaping". The contract falls under the category of research and development consultancy services. The procurement was conducted through a selective process by calling off from a framework agreement. The tender period ended on May 9, 2023, with the contract period scheduled from June 11, 2023, to August 21, 2023. The contract value is £9,100, and the procurement involved Eunomia Research & Consulting Ltd.

This recent contract award by DEFRA presents an opportunity for businesses in the research and development consultancy services sector. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) would be well-suited to compete for similar tenders in this industry category. The procurement method of selective calling off from a framework agreement indicates a specific need for expertise in the environmental analysis field. Businesses with experience in analysing stakeholders' views and conducting evidence-based policy proposals would find this tender conducive for business growth.

Notice Title

RDE290 - Analysis of the environmental chapter for the Department of Health and Social Care call for evidence of youth vaping

Notice Description

Project objectives are to: 1. Identify, and quantify the frequency of, main themes in response to each question within the environmental chapter of the call for evidence. 2. Identify the views expressed by different types of respondents. The analysis could cover both public (individual) and organisational (businesses, local authorities, NGOs and representative organisations etc.) responses. Analysis should enable us to understand and compare the motivations of each group. The nature of the consultation means that responses from stakeholders with detailed knowledge and experience of each area are of particular interest to us, and therefore the analysis should pay particular attention to these stakeholders. 3. Identify evidence submitted by respondents to inform our understanding of the costs and benefits of potential future policy proposals. The contract was awarded by DEFRA.
