Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process concerns the purchase of microwell plate washers by Public Health England (PHE) for its National Infection Service (NIS) Porton laboratories, classified under the washing equipment industry (CPV code: 42716110). The tender is currently in the active stage, having been published on 8th January 2019, with a submission deadline of 22nd January 2019. The total estimated value of this contract is £30,000. This open procurement is set to commence on 1st February 2019 and will last for a duration of three years, concluding on 31st January 2022, covering delivery locations across the United Kingdom and other territories.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in the supply of laboratory equipment, particularly those capable of providing technologically advanced microwell plate washers that meet specific operational requirements. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in programmable washing systems and a strong emphasis on chemical resistance and compact design would be well-positioned to compete. Companies that can also offer training for operators on using the equipment will find their proposals particularly attractive, addressing PHE's comprehensive needs.
