Notice Description

The Royal Borough of Greenwich Council (RBG Council) wishes to engage a creative, dynamic, and suitably qualified architect-led Design and Implementation Team to deliver the High Street shopfronts and public realm, and the key site development briefs. In summary the Design and Implementation team will: * Establish an innovative, transparent and creative community engagement and participation framework to be adopted as the standard by the lead consultant and sub-consultants. * Create promotional tools i.e. brand name/logo, social media (potentially an independent website) etc. to garner community and external stakeholder support (i.e. GLA) and publicise the project. * Engage the community and deliver the objectives of the GGF that express local character, represent community buy-in and serve as place-markers within Plumstead. * Deliver shop-front improvement schemes (construction, painting, signage, lighting etc.) involving a collective of 40 businesses (from the pavement to first floor, including window displays). This stream of work will comprise extensive up-front business-owner engagement and commitment, with an agreed 10% contribution from traders. * Deliver White Hart Road underpass and collaborate with the community to identify, co-design and deliver (painting, signage, and lighting) for the underpass transformation. * Undertake an audit of green infrastructure including green and grey spaces and street trees and planting along Plumstead High Street and White Hart Road to identify new opportunities for urban greening, and recommend specific urban greening interventions for the sites identified for public realm improvements. * Deliver the public realm and streetscape projects named below and identified in greater detail in section 2.2 o Gavin House - Green Open Space o Car Wash Site o Garibaldi Street Green o White Hart Road / Plumstead High Street Junction o White Hart Road o 148-150 Plumstead High Street o 236 Plumstead High Street * Oversee and project manage all sub-consultant work to ensure agreed standards of community engagement, design quality and robust delivery are met. * Project manage all construction works to ensure all works adhere to the relevant approved and statutory design requirements, necessary material specifications and construction methodology * Liaise and seek all necessary approvals/permits regarding planning, highways, transportation, statutory utilities works. * Ensure compliance with Designers: roles and responsibilities, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) * Deliver development briefs to RIBA Stage 2 for key sites to encourage redevelopment of underutilised sites in private ownership
