Notice Title
Tier 2 Weight Management Services (Dynamic Purchasing System)
Notice Description
The London Borough of Tower Hamlets (referred to as 'Tower Hamlets' or the 'Authority') would like to invite organisations to submit applications through a Dynamic Purchasing System Process (DPS) to become accepted providers of the Tower Hamlets Tier 2 Weight Management Service.Overweight and obesity presents a major challenge to the current and future health of the local population. Higher Body Mass Index (BMI) is associated with an increased risk of morbidity and mortality from a range of conditions and contributes to increased health and social care costs. Due to these reasons, weight management is a local priority for the council, our partners and local residents.Tier 2 tender documents: https://procontract.due-north.com/Advert?advertId=0ef0b76b-0afb-e911-80fb-005056b64545 Additional information: The Council has a budget of PS770,000 for the services; however, it is possible that further funding may become available during the life of the DPS. Should this be the case the Council will run mini-competitions for those services as and when required; the total estimated contract value reflects this. 1. Tier 2 weight management service of PS770,000 for the duration of the contract based on PS154,000 per annum This refers to the (at least) 12 weeks weight management programme in the tier 2 weight management set out in the Specifications. 2. Other activities related to weight management will be PS700,000 for the duration of the DPS (possible funding). This refers to Specific groups' weight management programmes that may include in-reach (delivery of services within identified facilities such as day centres), very low calorie diet or other innovative interventions. This application process has been issued by London Borough of Tower Hamlets on in accordance with the Public Contract Regulations 2015 ("the Regulations) Schedule 3 ("Light Touch") service. This Procurement Exercise will therefore be run in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 as they apply to "light touch" services. While the Authority is following a process similar to a Dynamic Purchasing System under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 neither that fact nor any other statements, acts or omissions of the Authority in connection with this Procurement Exercise should be taken as indicating that the Authority intends to be bound by the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 or the general principles of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to any greater extent than applies by law. We refer to the process as Dynamic Purchasing System as the functionality employed in this procurement is similar to that of a DPS.
