Notice Title

Carlisle LCWIP Route 28 Preliminary Design

Notice Description

Cumberland Council ('the Council') is seeking to appoint a multidisciplinary consultancy team to undertake scheme development and preliminary design for a LTN1/20 compliant cycling, walking and wheeling route in Carlisle. The routes are identified within the Carlisle Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP). This document sets out the Councils priorities for the delivery of cycling and walking improvements at a local level over the period 2022-2037, with the aim of encouraging more people to make journeys on foot or by bike. The Council has developed costed concept designs for the route and have secured funding for the next stage of design development through the Active Travel Fund 4 Extension (ATF4Ex). The council now requires support to develop the scheme to a preliminary level of design (RIBA Stage 3 or equivalent), produce costings and prepare documentation to support a future bid for delivery funding through the Active Travel Fund or equivalent.
