Notice Description

Birmingham City Council (the Council) and Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) are in the early stages of developing a future proposal and would like to seek input from the market as to what might be the most potentially attractive way of packaging and scoping any possible future procurement opportunities. The Parties are currently exploring a range of options around service delivery within social and community transport services, and one of those options being explored is the combination of Ring & Ride and a proportion of Home to School Transport. For that reason, the Parties are keen to explore all options or solutions that maybe currently available in the market, for this work. We are seeking specialist transportation expertise to enable us to explore all operational efficiencies through possibly establishing a joint approach for both critical services. We are looking for a solution that will: * Deliver quality services - Ensure all users can access safe and efficient services that are reliable, flexible and are appropriate to their needs * Deliver value for money - Provide a one fleet solution and in doing so, reduce overheads and fleet by increasing sufficiency * Deliver a sustainable and more efficient operation - Reduce carbon footprint, track wider benefits to the community beyond financial savings If you are interested in participating in this Market Sounding Exercise, please register interest via the In-tend e-portal https://in-tendhost.co.uk/birminghamcc. Registration and access to the In-tend electronic tendering tool is free and all correspondence for this consultation must be made via this on-line process. Interested parties must download a market testing questionnaire from In-tend and submit completed questionnaires by 17:00 hours on 30th November 2020. Any problems in accessing or using the In-tend e-portal should be reported to the Corporate Procurement Team via email at cps@birmingham.gov.uk
