Summary of the contracting process

The Birmingham City Council is initiating a market engagement for "Vulnerable Adult Support Services for Disabilities and Mental Health". This procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with an estimated contract value of £7 million per annum over a potential duration of five years. The engagement end date is set for 22nd June 2021, and responses must be submitted via the In-Tend e-tendering system. The services are aimed at supporting vulnerable adults in the West Midlands region and fall under the social work and related services industry category.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the social care sector, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Companies interested in delivering these support services can engage with the Birmingham City Council to discuss barriers to service provision during the COVID-19 pandemic and to co-design a responsive service that addresses the needs of vulnerable adults. This collaborative approach may also allow for additional funding partnerships, enhancing the potential for business growth in this critical service area.
