Summary of the contracting process

NHS England has initiated the procurement process for the "Archetype Decarbonisation Model & Guidance" project. This tender falls under the industry categories of construction consultancy services, miscellaneous health services, and environmental engineering consultancy services. The aim is to leverage digital twin technology to create archetypes based on ERIC and contextual data to simulate decarbonisation measures. The project is located in Leeds, England, with a tender end date on 12 December 2024, and the contract period stretching from 7 January 2025 to 7 March 2025. The process has been designated as an open procedure (below threshold) with a maximum budget of £41,666.67 GBP.

This tender creates substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in digital twin technology, decarbonisation strategies, and environmental consultancy. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly encouraged to participate. By providing expertise in low carbon technologies and site decarbonisation, businesses can contribute to national carbon reduction targets while expanding their portfolio and market presence. The clear alignment with NHS's needs ensures that organisations without extensive energy management resources can still compete effectively by delivering innovative, cost-effective decarbonisation solutions.

Notice Title

Archetype Decarbonisation Model & Guidance

Notice Description

This project will capitalise on the success of creating a digital twin at an NHS trust. It will utilise digital twin technology to create a set of archetypes based on ERIC and other contextual data. A set of possible decarbonisation measures will be simulated to help identify technologies and interventions that will deliver carbon reduction to meet national targets. Understanding the order, cost and impact of low carbon technologies will allow heat and site decarbonisation plans to be aligned and templates to be developed, thereby reducing the costs for planning and ensuring that organisations without energy management resources can develop a plan for investment.
