Notice Title
Capital Project Delivery Operating Model
Notice Description
The GSTT capital portfolio is undergoing a period of significant change. The amount of capital available is constrained by cash levels and CDEL limits and the size of the future capital portfolio is expected to be smaller than in recent years. Strategically the Trust is focusing more on investing in existing infrastructure and medical equipment rather than new buildings. In addition to this changing landscape, there are several challenges with the way that capital projects are delivered. Projects are regularly delivered significantly over time and budget, and with limited advanced warning and few opportunities for leadership to make proactive choices to mitigate cost & schedule increases. The Essentia leadership team have initiated a review of the Operating Model for the delivery of Capital projects with the ambition to: * Significantly improve the effectiveness (with regard to pace, value for money, cost, processes & patient outcomes) of the Trust's capital project delivery * Optimise the capital delivery team to reflect the scale and complexity of the size of the capital programme * Define and implement a sustainable and flexible operating model for delivery of capital projects that can respond to future changes in the size and shape of the capital portfolio * Align what is delivered in house and what is delivered through external partners and suppliers to reflect the new reality of the Trust's financial position and strategic direction * Position Essentia as the centre of excellence for project delivery in London, the South East and beyond
