Notice Description

To support councils to ensure that their councils feel and are safe while carrying out their duties as a councillor, we require up to ten case studies outlining where councils are already doing this well. The provider will be expected to carry out research to identify case study areas, with support by the LGA where good practice has already been identified. The final set of councils to be approached will be agreed with the Lead Officer. Case studies should: *Be in plain and accessible English *Representation from councils under a range of political representation *Cover a range of approaches, i.e. risk assessment, Single Point of Contact/reporting protocols, policies, equipment / technology, training advice, partnership working with other relevant agencies like police *Demonstrate the impact of the action taken, whether the approach is being sustained or developed and lessons learned / advice for those looking to learn from the experience. The set of case studies should include: *Representation from each region of England and other UK nations so far as possible *Representation from councils of a range of structures so far as possible (unitary, county and district) *Examples of engaging a range of demographic groups so far as possible, for example ensuring the engagement of disabled children, LGBTQIA+ young people or children in care. *Examples of engaging children and young people in policy development across a range of policy areas, not only children's services. The final set of case studies should be presented in Word format for publication on the LGA website. Alongside the case studies, the provider will be expected to submit written confirmation from each council that they are happy for their case study to be published on the LGA's website.
