Notice Information
Notice Title
17-138 Emergency Carers Service
Notice Description
Expressions of interest are invited from suitably experienced, Registered Care Providers who can provide standby care to be accessed in an emergency situation for a period of up to 48 hours or 72 hours over a bank holiday. The Carers' Emergency Service will provide care in an emergency situation when the informal carer cannot provide their usual substantial level of care to a relative or friend due to an unforeseen situation such as ill health, accident or admission to hospital. It is expected that care will be provided on the day of the request, within 1 hour if necessary, and may be for short periods of time to undertake specific tasks or for up to 24 hour care in the home. The Provider will replace the care normally provided by the informal carer based on a previously agreed support plan devised as a result of a Carers Assessment and the Carer's registration to the Carers Emergency Scheme. Carer registration to the scheme is administered by RMBC. Arrangements will be made for care to be provided by other means should the informal carer be incapacitated for longer than this period. There is no guarantee of business for Providers under this Agreement. Payment for actual service will be made per activation at the agreed hourly rate by monthly invoice. By entering into this contract the successful Provider must accept all requests for service that fulfil the activation criteria and be able to provide service within an hour of the request if required. Requests may be made outside normal office hours.
