What Works Hub for Global Education
Notice Description
The What Works Hub (WWH) for Global Education will deliver a global platform to support governments who want to transform their education systems in a sustainable way, maximising the impact of education evidence to inform cost effective reforms to benefit all children. It will focus on foundational learning in the first period. The WWH is an 8-year PS55 million programme which will run to December 2028, of which up to PS30 million is being procured via this contract. The pilot phase of this programme began in 2021 and will run until March 2023. This 68-month contract will begin in May 2023 and end in December 2028. The WWH will both deliver and enable better access to world class education research in support of governments committed to addressing the learning crisis through evidence-based reform. The barriers to tackling the learning crisis are well understood. WWH will focus on addressing gaps in children's foundational learning (basic literacy, numeracy, and socio-emotional skills) in the first instance, including a focus on improving learning outcomes for marginalised girls and children, ensuring stronger uptake of existing evidence, as well as strengthening our understanding of what works by scaling up the innovative use of implementation science in education. The WWH will operate through three pillars: Pillar 1 will be delivered globally. Pillar 2 to be delivered in up to 8 countries At scale research under Pillar 3 will be delivered in up to 4 countries. Pillar 2 and 3 countries can be drawn from the following list: Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania. The WWH will deliver a global platform to support governments and their partners to transform education systems and learning outcomes.
