YAS 230 Management of Make Ready Service
Notice Description
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust requires a supplier to provide the management of an Make Ready System at one of its sites in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Make Ready is the process by which the Trust ensures that patient-carrying vehicles are clean, fully equipped and ready for action whenever and wherever they are required. This is a high performance service delivery model for the ambulance sector and encompasses cleaning, stock and logistics management, asset control, movement of vehicles, management of medicines. The Trust has already conducted a pilot scheme for a Make Ready system to establish the longer term Make Ready model. The initial stage of the Make Ready pilot has now concluded. The Trust now needs to evaluate this model and other pilot schemes to determine the long term strategy within the Trust. This procurement seeks to award a contract to a supplier to manage and run the Make Ready Service that currently operates at the Manor Mill Resources centre (just off Manor Mill Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS11 8DF) where vehicles in the Leeds and Gildersome area are processed on a twice a day basis. Whilst the current service operates at the above site, the Trust may agree with the supplier to operate the service at alternate locations. The supplier is to provide services that adhere to the supply of Make Ready Specification. The successful bidder will supply the Make Ready Operatives and manage the Make Ready operatives for the duration of the contract. It is the responsibility of the supplier to ensure that training is carried out in accordance with the Trust's requirements and in line with the specification, only operatives which have completed a Make Ready training course and successfully passed a prescribed examination will be allowed to prepare Trust vehicles. The following elements will be provided by the operation of a Make Ready Service: 1. The Control and Management of all Fleet Vehicles that are ring fenced within the specific Make Ready Centre 2. The initial conversion of existing vehicles to the new specification 3. The fuelling of all assigned vehicles 4. External Cleaning of all assigned vehicles 5. Internal Infection Control Cleaning of all assigned vehicles 6. Re-stocking of all assigned vehicles, including checking and replacing any broken packs 7. Re-packing of all response modular bags 8. Testing & Checking of all medical devices 9. Checking of all medical equipment 10. Asset Management within the Make Ready Centre 11. Checking of medicines modules within the Green Response Bag & Resus Bag if the seals are broken or not present 12. Stock Management 13. Cleaning of the Garage and Make Ready working area 14. Re-ordering of medical consumables and medical gases 15. Battery Management 16. Receipt and Issue of all assigned vehicle to operational staff 17. Repatriation of medical equipment from associated A&E Departments 18. Liaison with F...
