Community Podiatry Services: What does 'good' look like? Invite to Planning Workshop

Notice Description

Thursday 23rd July 2015, 2.00pm - 4.30pm Crowne Plaza, Wollaton Street, Nottingham NG1 5RH Are you an organisation interested in shaping how to define a successful Community Podiatry services in Nottingham? Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) would like to invite you to a workshop on the afternoon of 23rd July 2015 to help identify the model and outcomes required from successful Community Podiatry services. This session will build on opportunities highlighted by previous engagement, provide feedback on actions the CCG has taken following engagement and will help us to define our priorities for services in the future. Who should attend? We are keen to invite organisations who can contribute to supporting the CCG's understanding around key criteria, interventions and outcomes which define successful Community Podiatry services. This may include organisations: * Providing or interested in providing social nail cutting services (to be considered as part of the pathway but not funded by the NHS) * providing or interested in providing core podiatry, biomechanics, domiciliary, community specialist podiatry, advanced podiatry and podiatric surgery * with an interest in the provision of podiatry services, including providers of related services (e.g. diabetes etc.) NHS Nottingham City CCG already holds a number of contracts with providers for community podiatry services that end in March 2016. Services are experiencing high levels of activity and some GPs who have referred into the services have raised concern that they can be difficult to access or move between as patient's needs change. We're therefore taking this feedback as an opportunity to revisit how the services are accessed, who can be referred to the services and what the services need to deliver in terms of patient outcomes. 'Commissioning for outcomes' is of key importance - healthcare provision will be judged by results that matter to the service user, not simply by numbers of people seen. The NHS is facing unprecedented challenges to its sustainability; demographic change, increasing demand and continual pressure on resources. We're experiencing this in Nottingham and have a responsibility to act to deliver better value and improved outcomes for patients. A move to 'Commissioning for Outcomes' will help to achieve this. The purpose of the workshop will be to consider the proposed pathway and definitions, share ideas, innovation and best practice on how an integrated pathway should work for patients and professionals. Facilitated group sessions will give attendees the chance to put forward their views on what should be measured to demonstrate successful outcomes from Nottingham's Community Podiatry services. Confirmation of bookings and further details, including timings and agenda, will follow prior to the event. Please book your place as soon as possible, spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
