Summary of the contracting process

The University of Sheffield is currently in the planning stage of a tender for the "District Heating Maintenance" contract, which focuses on comprehensive maintenance services for a newly installed Jenbacher cogeneration unit at the Western Bank Campus, Sheffield. The contract will span a minimum of 15 years and includes both preventative and corrective maintenance, parts, and expert field service support. Key dates include the engagement end date of 12 February 2020, with an anticipated market engagement event to take place in February 2020 for interested providers to present their capabilities.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in maintenance services, particularly those with expertise in energy systems and cogeneration technologies. Companies that can provide rapid response times and possess approval for genuine Jenbacher parts would be well-suited to compete. The engagement phase encourages expressions of interest from SMEs, making it an ideal chance for smaller enterprises to establish themselves in the public procurement arena, especially in the Yorkshire and the Humber region.
