Consultant Safeguarding (SJA 26/8/21)
Notice Description
Job Title: Safeguarding Consultant Rate of Pay: ?550 per day (all inclusive) Location: Working from Home/Office based Start Date: ASAP Contract type: Agency Safeguarding Adults Review of process and practice The safeguarding adults service has identified a number of significant incidents over the last year. A review of these incidents has revealed several recurrent themes. High quality safeguarding practice is a priority for the authority and we want to ensure learning is embedded in practice and process and adults at risk are placed at the centre of all safeguarding investigations. The purpose of this review is to look at the overall safeguarding process and identify good practice as well as knowledge gaps and potential improvements to structure and process. This is likely to include: o Safeguarding thresholds o The safeguarding process including decision making points and use of the MCA. o Supervision and management oversight of safeguarding o Frontline staff levels of knowledge and skill when working to safeguard adults o Implementation of Making Safeguarding Personal We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge and experience of safeguarding adults in a social work context. They need to be social work qualified, have worked at a senior level, and have an understanding of adult safeguarding from an operational and strategic perspective. Previous experience of a safe guarding lead would be an advantage. Ability to analyse quantitive and qualitative data and make reasoned, evidence-based recommendations from the review. Ability to quickly formulate a methodology for the review and work to deadlines. An enhanced Adults Barring DBS will be required for this role Mostly remote working but may need some office based work.
