Notice Description

NHS Central London CCG, on behalf of North West London Clinical Commissioning Groups (the CCGs) is inviting suitably qualified and experienced Providers to submit a proposal for delivery of training that will improve the quality of support received by people with learning disabilities and/or autism who also have a mental health needs, or behaviour that challenges, by equipping family members and support staff with the skills to support them in a way that maximises wellbeing and minimises potential risks. A range of established and comprehensive training programmes which embed that values and practice of Positive Behavioural Support across the North West London Transforming Care Partnership. The overall programme will consist of distinct training courses for family carers, front-line social care staff, supervisory and managerial social care staff and professionals within community learning disability teams. The roll out of the training across organisations and partners will support the transformation of local support arrangements to minimise the risk of people being unnecessarily admitted to inpatient settings, and to facilitate prompt and effective discharges from inpatient settings. Expected outcomes from the training are: * Individuals with intellectual disabilities and behaviours that challenge will benefit from high-quality, evidence-based support delivered by competent professionals working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. * Practitioners will benefit from professional development and occupational standards. * Organisations supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and behaviours that challenge will be able to employ practitioners with a greater degree of certainty about competence and quality. * Commissioners will have a greater understanding of the nature and use of PBS in practice. The maximum contract value is PS100,000 for delivery from April 2017 to March 2018.
