Summary of the contracting process

The Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has awarded a contract for the provision of Authorising Engineer services related to high and low voltage infrastructure. This contract aims to ensure compliance with Health Technical Memoranda and other standards, contributing to the safety of electrical systems across the Trust's sites. The procurement, classified under mechanical and electrical engineering services, was conducted through a framework agreement with the NHS Shared Business Services. The contract, valued at £50,000, commenced on 1 September 2025 and will conclude on 31 August 2030. The procurement stage is complete, and the supplier chosen is Eta Projects Limited, based in London. This selective procurement process was specifically aimed at enhancing infrastructure across the East Midlands region.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in electrical infrastructure services, particularly those with capabilities in high and low voltage systems. Although the primary supplier, Eta Projects Limited, is an SME, the contract's scope provides opportunities for subcontractors and businesses that offer specialised audits, compliance support, and incident investigation services. Businesses focusing on safety and compliance in healthcare environments might find potential in forming partnerships or consortia to engage with similar tenders through existing frameworks like the NHS Shared Business Services. This creates avenues for growth, especially for enterprises aspiring to establish or expand their footprint in the healthcare engineering sector, ensuring they meet strict regulatory and compliance standards.
