Summary of the contracting process

The Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is currently in the planning stage for a procurement titled "Pathology Managed Service." This project falls under the healthcare industry and encompasses the delivery of pathology services, primarily at City Hospital and Queen's Medical Centre in the East Midlands, United Kingdom. Interested parties should note that an engagement end date is set for 8th August 2018, with a supplier day scheduled for 1st June 2018 to discuss the contract, which has an estimated value of £35 million for an initial term of seven years.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for companies specialising in managed laboratory services, pathology equipment maintenance, and the supply of consumables. Given the nature of the procurement, businesses with expertise in clinical pathology, including blood science disciplines such as biochemistry and immunology, would be particularly suited to compete. The potential for the Managed Service Contract to encompass additional laboratories throughout its term, in line with the establishment of NHSi Pathology Networks, further enhances the business prospects for bidders.
