Summary of the contracting process

The Isle of Wight Council is seeking tenders for cleaning services to maintain its various internal facilities across the Isle of Wight. The contract, which began on 1 July 2022, has a duration of three years, with an option for a two-year extension. This procurement falls under the Open Procedure as outlined by the Public Contract Regulations 2015, and covers an estimated contract value of £1,000,000. Interested suppliers were invited to submit their proposals by the deadline of 14:00 hrs on 9 March 2022. The successful bidder is expected to maintain high cleaning standards across approximately 15,011.5 square metres of floor area in Authority offices and public-access premises, with an adaptive approach to managing the number of sites throughout the contract period.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community sector enterprises (VCSEs) with expertise in cleaning services to expand their operations. Companies that possess the required cleaning equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations will be well-positioned to compete for this contract. Given the Council's need for versatile and responsive service provision, businesses that demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to quality will likely find success in this competitive procurement process.
