Summary of the contracting process

Buckinghamshire Council is currently engaged in the planning stage of a procurement process for care services, specifically targeting providers of residential and nursing care, supported living, domiciliary care, extra care, and shared lives provision for adults. This initiative is part of a broader review in Buckinghamshire and begins with a questionnaire for care organisations, which aims to gather insights on future provisioning amidst ongoing changes in the sector. Key dates include the engagement end date set for 17th September 2021, and the contract falls under the health and social work services category.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the health and social care sector, particularly small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that are well-suited to deliver innovative solutions in care provision. By participating in this process, businesses can influence future commissioning intentions and position themselves as key players in the evolving landscape of adult care services within Buckinghamshire, particularly in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Notice Title

Questionnaire for providers of residential and nursing care, supported living, domiciliary care, extra care and shared lives provision for adults

Notice Description

Buckinghamshire Council and NHS Buckinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group are reviewing care provision for adults within Buckinghamshire and the surrounding area. This includes the following provision for individuals with either health or social care needs: residential care homes, nursing homes, supported living, domiciliary care, extra care and shared lives provision. For many authorities and providers, the Covid-19 pandemic has created considerable uncertainty. We want to work collaboratively with care providers to make sure the right care and support is available in Buckinghamshire as we move out of the pandemic, and in the longer term. To help with this, we would be grateful if you could complete a short questionnaire about your future intentions as a care organisation. Your responses will be used by Buckinghamshire Council and Buckinghamshire CCG to help us plan our future commissioning intentions. Responses to this questionnaire will be treated confidentially and will only be used by Buckinghamshire Council and Buckinghamshire CCG to support planning for future commissioning activity. If any information is used in published reports, it will be anonymised. Individual organisations or responses will not be identifiable. This survey is open until 17th September and should take 10-15 minutes to complete. The link to the survey is below. https://yourvoicebucks.citizenspace.com/integrated-commissioning/34488b11 Thank you for taking part.
