Building control Approved Inspector Services
Notice Description
The Restoration & Renewal programme has a requirement for building control Approved Inspector services to support the Palace of Westminster design development. The Houses of Parliament are home to one of the busiest and most historic parliamentary institutions in the world. They are an enduring symbol of our national identity, and is one of the top five most recognisable buildings in the world. However, it is deteriorating faster than it can be repaired and the longer this essential work is left the greater the risk of a sudden catastrophic failure. In 2018 Parliament decided to create independent bodies to manage the Restoration and Renewal Programme, a Sponsor Body to set the scope, budget and timescale, and a Delivery Authority to carry out the work, and procure and manage the contractors and supply chain. Both will work together to provide a fit, modern working home for our parliamentary democracy and deliver value for money to the taxpayer. The Delivery Authority is seeking to procure an Approved Inspector to support the Concept Design development for the Grade 1 listed Place of Westminster. The services are to include the activities outlined below with a view to ensuring any proposed designs are successful in future planning applications without significant rework: * Assess plans against the requirements of the Building Regulations 2010 and issue a compliance report * Provide full records of design assessment for future reference and continuity of control * Assess amendments throughout the scheme and provide written feedback on compliance matters * Attend relevant design meetings, currently held remotely * Provide ad hoc telephone and email advice when required. Additional information: Suppliers are required to download the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) from the portal before accessing the ITT documents. The NDA must be submitted as a correspondence and a declaration must also be submitted, stating that the NDA has not been modified. Access to the tender documents will not be granted until the signed NDA has been received. The Tender documents will be accessible at the Houses of Parliament's e-procurement portal: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/parliamentuk . Tender submissions must be uploaded to the e-procurement portal; electronic responses submitted via e-mail are not acceptable. To access the NDA select the tender reference DA1107 in the 'current tenders' list, click on the 'view tender details' and express interest by clicking on the button provided. You will need to register your company details, thereafter you will be issued with a username and password. If you have previously registered with In-Tend, please follow the link shown which will redirect you to the home page where you can log on using your existing username and password to collect the tender documents. If you have registered and forgotten your username and password, click on the 'forgotten password' link on the In-Tend homepage. Please keep this username and password secure and do not pass it to any third parties. If you have any questions on how to use this web site please contact Mariana Apostol on mariana.apostol@r-r.org.uk. You are advised to allow sufficient time when responding to this ITT, and for the full uploading of documents, prior to the closing date of 12:00 noon UK time on 7th of July 2021. Late tenders will not be accepted. If you are uploading multiple documents you will have to individually load one document at a time or you can opt to zip all the documents in an application such as WinZip or WinRAR.
