Summary of the contracting process

The University of Sunderland is currently seeking tenders for the replacement of intruder alarm systems and an upgrade to CCTV equipment at its St Peters Campus. This procurement, titled "Intruder Alarm Replacement, CCTV Upgrade, condition reporting and the associated Minor Installation/Upgrade and Maintenance Contracts (including Access Control)," falls under the category of security, fire-fighting, police, and defence equipment. The tender period is active, closing on 9 October 2017, with the contract expected to run from 31 January 2018 to 30 January 2023. The procurement is being conducted through a selective method, specifically using competitive dialogue due to the project's scope and complexity.

This opportunity presents a significant growth avenue for businesses engaged in the security and maintenance sectors, particularly those specialising in installing and upgrading alarm and CCTV systems. The University’s requirement for minimal disruption during operational hours also suggests a preference for contractors with experience in managing sensitive environments. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in security solutions, system installations, and maintenance contracts would be particularly well-suited to participate in this tender process, as the University is open to considering economically advantageous proposals across multiple lots outlined in the tender.
