Community Energy Mentorship and Support - Market Engagement
Notice Description
Essex County Council's (ECC) strategic plan for 2021 to 2025, makes a commitment to net zero and to "work across the Council and County to hit our net zero targets by ensuring that the Council significantly reduces its carbon footprint whilst also supporting an acceleration in the progress towards sustainable housing and energy". The plan also commits ECC to "work with communities and businesses, providing advice and support to enable and empower local action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build climate resilience." Hence, the Council seeks to appoint a consultancy for the delivery of a programme of community energy group mentoring, and support. Through this market engagement activity, ECC hopes to identify consultancies who have capacity and professional experience in providing mentoring and support to community energy groups in respect of: identifying relevant initiatives for community energy groups to participate in; providing expert assistance in the writing of funding and grant applications; providing technical expertise in preliminarily identifying local opportunities for renewables best suited to a group's locality and optimising the technical specifications of any such renewable; business plans and business development support. If you a consultant and feel you can meet the Council's objectives and requirement, please submit an Intent to Respond, download the Market Engagement Pack and respond to the questionnaire in it. If you do not have an account, supplier registration is free of charge at https://procontract.due-north.com/Register and it provides access to all current and forthcoming procurement opportunities for Essex County Council alongside several other public sector organisations. The deadline for the questionnaire responses is Friday 24th May 2024 at 2:00pm; all responses should be submitted via ProContract. Please note that this Prior Information Notice (PIN) / Early Market Engagement is not a call for competition and as such you will need to express your interest in any future tender opportunity once the contract notice is published in Find a Tender and on Contracts Finder.
