Summary of the contracting process

Balancing our residual greenhouse gas emissions - a review of carbon reduction approaches to achieve Net Zero by 2030

Notice Description

The UK has set out in law the target of achieving Net Zero by 2050. Since 1990, UK greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have been falling. In 2017 UK GHG emissions were equivalent to just over 500 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (MtCO2e) , 40% below 1990 levels. To achieve Net Zero by 2050 the UK will need to cut its emission rates by over 300 MtCO2e (2017 levels) to 193 MtCO2e in 2050 To help us achieve these ambitions we are commissioning this project which will collate and analyse evidence to help us understand how best to balance our residual carbon emissions to achieve Net Zero by 2030. It will help us understand: - Which approaches are best? - How should we offset/inset? - Where (geographically) should we work? - Who should we collaborate with? Additional information: Thank you for your interest in tendering for this requirement, You will need to access the documents through Bravo Solutions portal. 1) The web address is https://defra.bravosolution.co.uk and click the link to register - Accept the terms and conditions and click 'continue' - Enter your correct business and user details - Note the username you chose and click 'Save' when complete - You will shortly receive an email with your unique password (please keep this secure). 2. Express an Interest in the tender - Login to the portal with the username/password - Click the 'PQQs / ITTs Open To All Suppliers' link. (These are Pre-Qualification Questionnaires or Invitations to Tender open to any registered supplier) - Click on the relevant PQQ/ ITT to access the content. - Click the 'Express Interest' button at the top of the page. - This will move the PQQ /ITT into your 'My PQQs/ My ITTs' page.
