Summary of the contracting process

Swindon Borough Council is currently in the planning stage for a tender titled "Passenger Transport - Dynamic Purchasing System - Soft Market Testing," aimed at engaging the market for providing buses, coaches, minibuses, and taxis. The market engagement milestone deadline is set for 26th September 2018, with preliminary workshops scheduled for 27th September 2018 at the Council's offices in Swindon, located in the South West region of the United Kingdom. This exercise is part of a broader initiative that aims to define a new procurement proposal and will facilitate future procurement processes according to the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

This soft market testing exercise presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the transport sector, particularly those specialising in passenger transport services. Companies providing taxi services, non-scheduled passenger transport, and special-purpose road passenger-transport services would be well-suited to engage in this market. With a projected contract value of £15,400,000, potential suppliers are encouraged to attend the workshops and provide feedback, which may shape the specifications for upcoming contracts in public and community transport services.
