Notice Title
Evaluation of Energy Saving Products and Services Submitted to the SENS competition
Notice Description
Text to be corrected in the original notice: Place of text to be modified: IV.2.7) Conditions for opening of tenders Instead of: Date: 22/02/2019 Time: 15:00 Read: Date: 04/03/2019 Time: 13:00 Place of text to be modified: IV.2.2) Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate Instead of: Date: 22/02/2019 Local Time: 15:00 Read: Date: 04/03/2019 Local Time: 12:00 Other additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. BEIS is developing an innovation competition to support the development of smart meter enabled products and services that enable domestic consumers to reduce their energy consumption. To support delivery of the competition, BEIS wishes to procure a programme of work to evaluate the energy-saving products submitted by competition entrants. The trialled products will use data generated by smart meters (potentially alongside follow-up support) to provide information or tips to consumers that enable and/or motivate them to behave in a more energy efficient manner. The goal of this work will be to understand the magnitude of the effects that these products have on consumer behaviour and the mechanisms through which they exert these effects. To be clear, the procurement advertised here is for the evaluation of products supported by the competition; it is not for the management or organisation of the competition.
