Notice Description

to undertake RIBA Stage 02 Landscape Architect design services for maintenance and improvement works to the KCS Quad. The design works shall include considerations of the following factors, whilst keeping within the limits of the Grade 1 listed restrictions imposed on the location: Landscaping o Improvements to existing layout for staff, visitors and VIP events Entertainment area and staff amenity o Provision of flexible staff 'break-out' and meeting areas and hosting of formal events Covered smoking area o Provision of covered smoking area for staff Bicycle storage o Provision of improved (increased capacity) staff bicycle storage Parking o Number of parking spaces can be significantly reduced, but must include disabled parking bays Improved accessibility o The existing cobbled surfaces and gullies within the Quad are inaccessible for people of reduced mobility There is currently poor wheelchair access between the Quad and KCS building Upgrading of services located beneath the Quad courtyard Space for artwork Provision of electric car charging points Key stakeholder liaison, including with FCDO logistics, security, disability staff groups, cyclist, staff, Historic England, Westminster City Council and visitors Accommodation of the following maintenance activities to be delivered as part of the works: o Rectification of subsidence, including repairs to stone building access steps and associated foundations o Repair/replacement of drainage below ground in area affected by subsidence o Repairs, replacement and cleaning of stone steps and building entrances o Resurfacing existing roads o Remove and relay uneven cobbles to create an even surface o Replacement of fire hydrants In addition to undertaking Landscape Architect design responsibilities the Contractor is to be responsible for leading all necessary stakeholder engagement activities, including staff groups, heritage planning pre-application processes, including those with Westminster City Council (WCC) and Historic England (HE) Additional information: N/A
