Notice Description

INTRODUCTION 1.1 Buckinghamshire Council (the Council) is requesting information about provision of support to people with visual and/or hearing impairment. 1.2 The current contract expires in April 2022, and the Council is looking to award a new contract with sufficient mobilisation time for a smooth transition. 1.3 Suppliers are invited to participate in this exercise by completing the attached questionnaire. This will help the Council understand the breadth of the market, its capacity and innovative practices. It will also provide commissioners with insights to review the service specification. 1.4 The information obtained from this exercise may be used to inform the Council's approach to any procurement process it undertakes for the delivery of these services. 1.5 This document is for information purposes only and suppliers will not be held to any indicative costings nor excluded from any future procurement exercise on the basis of any information they provide. 2. SCOPE 2.1 The categories of people with a sensory disability to be covered by the Service are as follows: * Hearing Disability * Visual Disability * Dual sensory Disability (deaf and blind) * Parents and carers who have a sensory disability as well 2.2 The Integrated Sensory Disability Service will consist of the following: * Assessment and support planning * Equipment assessment and provision * Registration * Information and advice * Enablement Services The deadline for responses to this Request for Information is midday 21 September 2021.
