Summary of the contracting process

Bristol City Council is in the planning stage for a public procurement process titled "Services for People Sleeping Rough in Bristol," aimed at addressing homelessness in the South West region of the United Kingdom. With an estimated budget of £3,461,453, the council plans to retender these services, contingent on cabinet approval expected in March 2020. Key dates include a provider event on 19th March and an indicative advertisement date of 1st April for services set to commence on 1st October 2020. This procurement will comprise two contracts focusing on prevention and support for individuals experiencing homelessness, with a contract period of two and a half years, extendable up to three additional years.

This procurement presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community and social enterprises (VCSEs) equipped to deliver health and social work services. Prospective bidders may benefit from engaging in the upcoming provider event to gain insights into the contracting requirements, including specifications and evaluation criteria related to social value. The focus on a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to service delivery will be beneficial for businesses that specialise in community services and support for vulnerable populations.
