Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the Turing House Free School Phase 6 Temporary Accommodation project, initiated by Turner & Townsend Project Management Limited, involves providing modular classrooms and ancillary support spaces located at Hanworth Road, Hampton, TW11 0LR. The process is currently in the planning stage, with an estimated budget of £650,000. The contract aims for completion between July 22 and August 28, 2020, with enabling works performed prior to the 2020 summer holidays. This open procurement procedure will assess potential contractors based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria, with tenders expected to be available from January 10, 2020.

This tender offers significant business growth opportunities for construction firms, especially those specialising in modular building projects, as it requires the successful contractor to demonstrate experience in delivering similar Department for Education Free School projects. Companies with capabilities in electrical and plumbing installations are particularly well-suited for this contract, as these services are integral to the project. The emphasis on a design and build approach suggests potential for creative solutions, making it an appealing opportunity for SMEs looking to expand their portfolio in the education sector.
