Notice Description

The University's Strategy includes delivering research excellence in a sustainable environment. Our primary commitment is to support the delivery of that experience with the highest possible level of quality. Further information can be found here https://www.southampton.ac.uk/about/strategy/research-strategy.page The University is looking to provide it's researchers with a comprehensive funding opportunities database providing a simple and convenient, fast and informative way of searching for research funding in all disciplines from the majority of sponsors in the UK and overseas. The database should feature an easy-to-use interface and powerful searching and customisation tools designed to assist in searches for research funding. Broad coverage and alerting on all research funding opportunities, across all disciplines to match the University's research activity and updated on at least a weekly basis. Coverage should include the full range of research funding opportunities from the small travel grants through to funding for multi-million pound collaborative grants. The information should have wide coverage, with a high degree of accuracy and newly released calls should be listed within a week of them being announced on funders websites. All funding opportunities will be pre-screened for eligibility for UK researchers. There should be an easy-to-use online interface with powerful searching and customisation tools designed to assist in searches for research funding. Desirable criteria for searching includes: Sponsor, Discipline, Award Type, Closing Date, Sponsor Country, Funding/Participation. Searches should be downloadable in an easy to use format to enable Research Administrators and others to create targeted funding newsletters. There should be the functionality to create saveable customised searches and alerts for all users. There should also be the functionality to create targeted groups and replicate the University structure of Faculties. Additional information: This soft market testing exercise will be conducted electronically and the documents can be downloaded from the web portal (In-Tend) provided earlier in this notice. https://in-tendhost.co.uk/universityofsouthampton. Due to the nature of this service it was not deemed suitable to be split into lots. In accordance with Regulation 50, paragraph (2) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and subject to Article 5 and Annex 5, Part D (13) of Directive 2014/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, the University intend to publish the contract value at contract award stage, and reserved the right to do so.
