Notice Title

CSI/CYP/ISF Children's Pilot - EOI ONLY

Notice Description

Bristol City Council are working in conjunction with Self Directed Futures to develop Individual Service Funds (ISFs) for disabled children and young people with personal budgets in Bristol. We are looking for organisations to express an interest into this pilot scheme for a period of 12 months. An Independent Service Fund (ISF) is one way of managing a personal budget for someone who needs care and support. Their family/carer chooses an organisation to manage the budget on their behalf and works with them to plan care, support services and activities that will help them to achieve their identified outcomes. ISFs offer a middle option between direct payments and local authority managed services. A cohort of children and young people have been identified to take part in the Pilot - these are families who struggle to spend or manage direct payments for their disabled child and/or find support or a personal assistant. ISFs have the potential to; o Support personalisation and more creative approaches to meeting an individual's needs and outcomes o Help foster a sense of belonging by ensuring more disabled children and young people are able to access leisure, sports and other activities in their local communities o Support seamless transitions into adulthood We are looking for organisations in Bristol who have a strong interest in connecting disabled children and their families to their local communities and might be interested in taking on the role as an organisation that manages ISFs, we are looking for organisations that: * Have a good working knowledge of local services and support options for disabled children and their families. * Can develop bespoke opportunities for disabled children and young people - this could include fun activities, new experiences and accessing the local community using the principles of personalised care planning. * Will have resource in place to check that any new providers are delivering a safe and high quality service with suitably trained, supervised and experienced staff to meet the complex needs of the child/young person. * Will be able to manage an Individual Service Fund effectively on behalf of the family.
