Summary of the contracting process

Thurrock Council is conducting an open procurement process for the "Health Families Service," which falls under the health services industry category. Located in the East of England, the tender is currently at the planning stage with a submission deadline of 24 March 2017. The contract period is set to commence on 1 September 2017 and will last until 31 August 2022. This procurement aims to select a single provider to deliver essential health services for children and their families, including health visiting and school nursing, as part of the Brighter Futures 0-19 Wellbeing model.

This tender presents significant opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community and social enterprises (VCSEs) to engage in public health services. Businesses that specialise in health and social care, particularly those with expertise in child health, health assessments, and support services for families, would be well-suited to compete. The selected provider will not only contribute to enhancing the well-being of local families but also play a pivotal role in the economic, social, and environmental improvements prioritised by Thurrock Council under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012.
