Ad-hoc Repairs to High Speed Industrial Roller Doors and Fire Doors in Northern Europe

Notice Description

1.0 Requirement Overview 1.1 Border Force is a law enforcement command within the Home Office and is responsible for securing the UK's borders by carrying out immigration and customs controls for people and goods entering the UK. To support its commitment to prevent illegal migration, Border Force employs various technologies to screen for illegal migrants within the high-risk and high-volume ports of northern Europe; 1.2 Border Force supports and provides detection technology and the infrastructure necessary to support the migrant screening undertaken by European stakeholders in Calais, Coquelles, Dunkerque, Oostende, Zeebrugge & Vlissingen. 1.3 Migrant screening is undertaken within large purpose-built sheds. The sheds are isolated from the outside environment using high-speed, industrial roller doors. 1.4 The high-speed roller doors remain an integral part of the screening process and are essential to isolate the screening technology from the outside environment. The doors must open and close quickly in order that they do not impede on the fluidity of the port traffic. 1.5 The high-speed doors are in constant use 24/7 and are subject to harsh sea-port/ rail-freight environments, therefore, they require regular servicing and maintenance to keep them operational 2.0 Expressions of Interest 2.1 Suppliers are invited to express their interest to quote for ad-hoc and urgent repairs of the high-speed roller doors across at ports within Calais, Coquelles, Dunkerque, Oostende, Zeebrugge & Vlissingen. 2.2 Suppliers should note that: 2.2.1 Any quotation must be provided free of charge and all travel arrangements and costs will remain the responsibility of the supplier. 2.2.2 Due to the business-critical nature of this requirement, all works must be carried out within agreed timescales. 2.2.3 All repairs undertaken and replacement parts supplied and fitted by the Supplier should be such that the doors continue to perform to the standards set out within the manufacturer's original specification. 2.2.4 Any replacement component parts shall be provided by the Supplier. Any parts supplied and used should only be new OEM component parts or alternatives authorised by the door manufacturer. The Authority must agree the use of any non-OEM component parts. Any agreed Non-OEM parts or components must either be, like for like and the equivalent quality, or, better than the manufacturers specification. 3.0 Future Requirement 3.1 Border Force will be seeking to compete the longer-term requirement within the next few months. *** To express an interest, please provide the information requested within the attachment *** Additional information: 4.0 Register an Interest 4.1 To register an interest, please e-mail any responses relating directly to this requirement to Christian Hough at Home Office Commercial: christian.hough@homeoffice.gov.uk.
