Summary of the contracting process

The Bristol City Council is currently in the planning stage of the procurement process for the "MetroBus iPoints Soft Market Testing Exercise." This initiative aims to gather insights into the market for the supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of information points ('iPoints') at MetroBus stops within the West of England. The estimated contract value ranges from £3 million to £6 million, with an engagement end date set for 23rd February 2018. The project falls under the transport and technology sectors, with a focus on intelligent transport systems (ITS). Key suppliers will be expected to provide real-time information displays and interactive touch-screens.

This tender represents a valuable opportunity for businesses engaged in transport technology, digital signage, and hardware maintenance services. Companies that specialise in calculation-type machines, passenger information systems, and software solutions for real-time data processing would be particularly well-suited to compete. Participating in this exercise could enable businesses to position themselves favourably for the forthcoming Invitation to Tender, potentially leading to significant contracts with local authorities.
