NEET English & Maths
Notice Description
The Covid-19 pandemic has led to a significant number of students disengaging from education. Almost all provision is currently full and there is very little available to young people becoming NEET. A high number of NEETs are experiencing mental health problems, and many are struggling to access services and education. Additional short term English and Maths sessions are required to support with missed learning opportunities due to the pandemic. Lot 1 Support for students to improve English and Maths grades to ensure they can progress in education. This provision can be delivered in any way that suits the needs of the learners. Online delivery will be needed for most young people. Delivery should result in a recognised qualification that will support progression in education, such as functional skills. Provision should be available across the county. Lots 2, 3 and 4 Re-engagement for those who have become disengaged from education and services. The Covid-19 pandemic has lead to a large number of students becoming very disengaged from education. Many of them are struggling to access services and education now they are opening up again. A high number are experiencing mental health problems. We are looking for projects to re-engage these young people. They should offer: Activities should be needs lead based on an initial assessment. Delivery should primarily be face to face for this client group. Programmes should be of 6-12 weeks duration with a minimum of 5 hours contact/activity time per week. We would expect a minimum of 10-15 participants per lot. If providers can offer more places, this will be taken into account when bids are judged.
