Summary of the contracting process

The Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (OCCG) is initiating a procurement process for GP services at Windrush Surgery in Banbury, located in the South East of England. This planning stage is part of preparing for a tender that will allow a successful provider to assume full responsibility for the surgery, currently servicing a patient list of approximately 8,500, with the contract expected to commence in July 2021. Interested providers must submit a market sounding questionnaire by 21st September 2020. This procurement will be facilitated by the NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit.

This opportunity may foster business growth particularly for organisations capable of delivering medical practice services, as it requires providers to engage actively with current GP partners and the local community in Banbury. Companies specialising in primary healthcare, with a focus on enhancing patient access and satisfaction, would be well-suited to compete. Additionally, providers will need to demonstrate capability in delivering a range of services while adhering to quality frameworks, which could be advantageous for established healthcare firms and SMEs looking to expand into community health services.
